The Journey House

Lifestyle Boutique Hotel Kanchanaburi

The journey house is run by a dedicated small team of the local people living in our neighbourhood We are pround to be part of this small village community that has been in existence for some hundreds of years. we have a sense of belonging here and we always fell secured. we hope you do too while you are staying with us.

NATURE IS OUR INSPIRATION

The best place to see wildlife scenes is our Naga pond, right in front of the main building, which is a permanent sanctuary of toads and frogs that are fairy noisy when it rains! Tree lizards in their splendid colours are also adding more colours to our garden but a little rare to be seen. Gecko or Tuk Gae (evidently named after its noticeable voice) in Thai is a great indicator of the healthy environment and is very common to hear, especially at night when they come out to prey on insects. Snakes of no poison to medium poisonous ones are more common in the rainy season, but they are shy and do not attack except they feel threatened by human behaviour.

If you feel like taking a rest, just simply enjoy nature at your hand reach – having a glimpse of various bird species in our peaceful garden, listening to their healing sounds, and just leaving the world behind!

Our wildlife residents

The Journey House and its surrounding has been a refuge for various kinds of wildlife species because of its all-year-round water availability, lush garden and its prevailing life safety atmosphere. There are more than 20 species of residential birds that are common to see. This ranges from a very tiny one like a sunbird tail to woodpecker, from fantail to cuckoo, and from bulbuls to Little Cameron and king fisher. In the cool season, beginning from December, we have some immigrant visitors stopping by such as Bronze Drongo and some water fowls. In the dry hot season. we have a few breeding species like bulbuls visiting us and giving our garden a life in a less abundant time of year.
